SAP Business One Consultant dcs IT Business Solutions - Stevenage, United Kingdom

This is an opportunity to work with a globally recognised IT & Business solution at a leading ERP software specialist. The role offers good career progression prospects and the chance to develop software & hardware skills and gain practical understanding of project management methodology. The candidate will be required to work within the SAP Business One team to deliver ERP solutions to a growing client base.
The consultant’s role comprises of a wide variety of duties and tasks and requires them to have a proactive and flexible approach to work.
The following tasks define the main elements of the role that may be required on a daily basis:
  • To investigate, establish, document and seek agreement on a client business requirements
  • To configure SAP Business One to meet agreed requirements
  • To support the sales team during presales with workshops and demonstrations and proposal documentation
  • To develop and implement add-on solutions to SAP to meet specific client business needs
  • To become expert in specific industry add-ons to SAP B1 to meet particular market needs
  • To manage integration to external systems, including eCommerce systems
  • To train the client in use of SAP Business One and related software applications
  • To maintain product knowledge
  • To achieve and maintain qualifications in SAP Business One and related applications
  • To provide technical support to existing Business One clients
The following are required skills for the role. These break down into personal attributes and more business oriented understanding. Not all are absolute requirements, since consultants can specialise in different facets of the job.
  • ERP Implementation Experience – History of delivering complete ERP systems at a skilled level or client side implementation exposure.
  • Excellent communication skills - Consultants need excellent questioning and listening skills to be able to investigate and understand a client’s real business needs. They also need equally good presentation and writing skills to be able to demonstrate to clients that their needs are understood.
  • Teamwork - Consultants need to work in a tightly knit team supporting and complementing their colleagues.
  • Problem Solving - Consultants need to demonstrate that they are flexible and persistent in their approach to work and have a logical problem solving method of completing tasks.
  • Business skills - Consultants need a clear understanding of the ways business works, the structure of different businesses and the way business processes operate.
  • Technical skills - An understanding of how business systems should operate to support a clients business.
  • Database Knowledge - A familiarity with relational database technologies.
  • MS Office skills – In depth knowledge of MS Office applications.
This is a full time position offering a competitive salary dependent on candidate's background and experience. The role will be based from our Letchworth, Hertfordshire office with travel to client site required.
